Q:  What happens if it rains on the day of the ride?

A: Event organizers for The Bike The Bay Ride have been advised by local officials that should it rain on the morning of August 23rd, the event will need to be canceled in the interest of safety for all participants. Bike The Bay has gone to great lengths to make this an enjoyable and safe experience for all and the threat of rain on the surface of the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge would compromise that experience. Should this occur, every attempt will be made to reschedule the ride.

Q: Are bicycle rentals available for those who don't have their own bike to ride Bike the Bay?

A: San Diego Bike Shop has authorized a discount for any registrants needing rentals for Bike The Bay.  Reservations for those needing a bike must be made at least 48 hours in advance. San Diego Bike Shop is located at 619 C Street, (619) 237-1245, mo@sdbikes.com.   Must mention Bike The Bay to receive discount.

Q:  Where do riders park on the day of the ride?

A:  Participants may park on the street and surrounding garages at the San Diego Convention Center on Harbor Drive ($15). For additional information and locations, visit http://www.aceparking.com/parking.htm - Please be aware of clearance levels of garages if you plan to use a rooftop car rack.

Q:  Are riders permitted to take photographs while on the bridge?

A: Sorry, no stopping on the bridge is permitted for any reason, including photography.  This policy has been established for the safety of all riders.

Q:  Will official ride photographs be available?

A:  We won’t be providing a free photo this year, but the plan is to have the photographer taking pictures on the bridge for purchase.
